Some Leadership Reflections from Pastor Al

The Leaders of Good News Church are highly committed to taking the youth ministry of our church to the next level

Last Sunday, November 4th we relaunched a Middle School Class after the offering time in each Celebration Service. Kelly Reza will typically be the teacher. The curriculum will be based on the full armor of God study for teens by Priscilla Shirer.

After Service Worship Music

At the initiative of young adults in our church, we are trying out a new after-service ministry. Blake and Des are building a playlist of worship music to be played as a background for those who wish to continue in worship, quiet fellowship and prayer in the auditorium.

Eagle Project

Brandon Ngo spearheaded a Bake Sale on Election Day, Nov 6th, to raise funds for the fire pit project he will do on the church property. He raised $276.50 toward this project which has a total budget of $1200. If you would like to contribute toward this project, give your donation to Good News Church, and indicate you would like it to be used for “Eagle Scout Project.”

A plan to bring a new, part-time staff person on board early in 2019

Copies of a newly approved Job Description for a part-time Ministry Group Coordinator are on the Welcome Center. Be praying for the search process for this new staff member.

Be praying for the formation of our Homeless Ministry Connect Group

This Friday, November 16th at 8 a.m., I will attend a meeting at the Susquehanna Harbor Safe Haven in Harrisburg to join in a conversation with other churches and agencies about the needs of the homeless community in our region. I can take a number of people with me. Let me know if you are interested.

Then, on Monday evening, December 3rd, I am providing a dinner (probably pizza and salad) at an open meeting for anyone who is considering becoming part of Good News Church’s new Homeless Ministry Connect Group. Please use the Connect Card to RSVP.

Young Adult Connect Group—Thanksgiving Family Dinner

Our Young Adult Connect Group is coming together for a Thanksgiving Family Dinner next Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. Every group member is encouraged to pray and ask God to show them at least one person to invite to the dinner. Pray that we will reach more and more people for Christ!!

In Christ,
Pastor Al on behalf of the Good News Church Leadership Team
